PWS Parent Company ESE World have conducted a controlled experiment showing that HDPE plastic can be recycled and reused at least 10 times without deteriorating quality and properties.

Both PWS and ESE have for a number of years recycled plastic in an innovative and unique way. The old waste containers are collected locally and are recycled directly for recycling by our specially developed mobile devices. Read more about the process here.

A question has remained unanswered in material science until now: How often can HDPE be processed, ground and newly processed in injection moulding procedures without that fundamentally changing the structure of the material and its characteristics? Therefore, ESE conducted a controlled experiment in its production facilities and examined how often the HDPE plastic could be reused before quality deteriorated. Advanced controls were then carried out in collaboration with external research institutes.

The result of the experiment showed that HDPE plastic can be recycled and reused at least 10 times. the service life of containers for recyclables of 15-20 years and the relatively low loss of material in the process, this result means that the availability of material for sustainable production from the same recycled material is secured for at least 150 to 200 years.
